At Tryon, we take pride in our creative approach to software development services. An example of one of many successes was a powerful solution to Precision Ag. When our client needed local calculations for Growing Degree Days (GDD), the products available were expensive and/or cumbersome to use. The Tryon team stepped in and created a service that pulls publicly available national weather service data from local weather stations on a nightly basis. We delivered data from the nearest weather station relative to each farm. This data is displayed to our customer’s dashboard in the form of easily recognizable GDD values with trending charts. Redundancy is built in so if a weather station is down we show the next nearest and so on. Our customer and their thousands of farms received great service at a much lower cost and the data is more accurate than other available solutions resulting in higher yields and greater profits.
